The making of... Michael and Alle's wedding car

Well, how should I start this? PL (you know who you are girl) came to me one find day and asked me to assist her in decorating the wedding car. I was excited (coz can do something related to wedding) and at the same time feeling rather nervous (can we manage to pull this off or screwed the whole thing?). Aiya, die ma die la...already said yes, and there's no turning back.

So, the journey started with searching the correct netting with the correct theme colors. Using a dark gold colored car as wedding car, it's kind of restricted in choosing nice nice colors to match. In the end, the hunt was over – bought in Kamdar Mid Valley.

Next, searching for appropriate accessories to decorate the car – we have to keep the budget as minimum as possible, so we don't have the luxury to spend recklessly. Every penny counts OK! My new found favorite place – SSF in Puchong Jaya. Go check it out if you are into flowers and home deco.

After getting the stuff needed, now it's time to start work. I can say I spent quite some time in preparing all the deco stuff for the car, partly I'm still new (first time doing this) and also I do with 'heart'. I want my creations to be perfect as much as I could :) Thanks to those that have faith in me – in believing me that I could deliver for such an important event! And I hope that I've proved you wrong – for those that have second thoughts in the beginning. Well, everyone has to start somewhere, and I'm glad I have started... and I believe I could be better as I practice more and more!

Here's the process I've been through, although not very detailed – there were some steps I skipped in the photos.

From 10m long netting, I've cut some into smaller pieces to form a bow

Final look: a small rose in the middle, loop with string of pearls as tail – all these were tied and twisted with wired using bare hands! Well, my fingers were hurts for few days, I think better get a small pliers next time.

This one is used to decorate the front of the car. It was a combination of 2 circles – one big and one smaller. The big one was not easy to do, but luckily it turned out quite OK.... I didn't measure the size I wanted – more like a guessing. Thanks Alicia for giving me a crash course on folding ribbons and PL for downloading tutorials from YouTube. I guess folding ribbons are much easier than folding netting of 10m long!

We're trying to get a better look against a white Accord and a white Cherry MPV. Those belong to my neighbors – numbers have been blurred to protect their privacy or I should rather say, I didn't get their permission :) Not bad, love the size!

The wedding car – gold Accord. On our way to the owner's house, we saw lots of Accord! A coincidence or perhaps I never really pay attention to an Accord car. I can say it's a manly car – looking handsome with the netting :)

Condolence stand

One of the lessons – doing condolence stand. This was considered a huge one – two tiers, costing RM500. Lots of different flowers were used. Something new to me – usage of bamboo.

This one costs RM250, done in an oval shape. In the same day, received two orders for condolence stands, till the shop also ran out of white-based flowers!

Basket arrangement

This was done for a new shop opening – placed on a counter

Hand bouquet - Roses

12 roses
First time trying to wrap a bouquet, of course under the watchful eyes of my 'sifu'

21 roses
This was done by 'sifu' in a dome shape. The client wants to propose to the girlfriend with 21 roses, meaning 'I am committed to you'..... aawwww, so sweet.
